Writing can be a lonely occupation. In the privacy of your study, perched precariously between the kids' homework and your partner's demands (or your partners' demands), dangling dangerously at the edges of your 'other' occupation it's easy to lose heart, or faith, in yourself or your work. At Perilous Adventures, our goal is to support you in finding ways to manage, improve and grow your writing.

Our mentorships offer you an opportunity to work one-on-one with an experienced writer and mentor in clarifying and reaching your personal writing goals - whether they're to finish a project, find new markets, develop new skills or hone old ones, establish new routines, fight inertia or disabling self-doubt, get feedback on work in progress, break old habits or move out of writing ruts, develop your research skills, enhance your critical reading skills, broaden your understanding of the history of literature, hone your grammar, editing or proofreading skills, learn more about the world of agents, publishers, booksellers and reviewers. Or perhaps you just need someone to talk to - to throw around ideas and listen to your dreams while you find your own way through the strange landscape of your imagination.
In short, what we offer is an exciting and unique opportunity for you to design a mentorship based on your own needs.
A typical three-month mentorship costs around $1200.00, which you can pay up-front, monthly or in fortnightly instalments.

Where Do we begin?
The first step is to contact us, by email, at admin@perilousadventures.net.
We'll send you some information and a form to fill out detailing your skills, experience, resources and dreams (you can also download the form from here).
Once you've filled in the form and supplied us with details about your current writing life: your habits, successes, concerns and ambitions, as well as some samples of your work, we'll contact you to set up a meeting to explore in more detail how we can help you reach your current and future writing goals. The intial meeting is an obligation-free opportunity for you to ask questions, to make suggestions, to ask for what you need.
The first meeting, and coffee, is on us.
Shortly after the meeting, one of our mentors will contact you with an initial proposal outlining the details of your individually-designed mentorship. Together, you'll work at finetuning this design so that it reflects your mutual goals before committing to a mutually-agreeable contract: an ideal map for a professional and supportive relationship between you and your mentor designed to help you achieve a set of clearly-defined outcomes within a set timeframe.
