Here are some things you may already know, if you have studied your history: once there was an orphan called Edward, who became king of England when he was just 9 years old. Edward had two older sisters: Elizabeth and Mary.<\/p>\n<p>Here is something you may not have heard: shortly before Edward ascended the throne in 1547 a channel opened between the worlds, and three ghosts, driven by fear, ambition and fury, crossed into the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"King Edward VI, aged 6 years old\" src=\"http:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/9\/97\/Edward_VI%2C_aged_6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Edward VI was the King of England between 1547 and 1553. In this story, the three ghosts that cross into the world when his father dies and he ascends the throne are the mothers of Edward and his sisters, Elizabeth and Mary: Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, and Jane Seymour. Three furies. Three mourners. Three ghosts who are determined to see their children survive, and flourish.
