This is not really a post at all. It’s just a quote from Jenny Lawson’s blog. I’m not usually into humorous blogs, or books. But I love this bit of her post about the-year-that-cannot-be-named.<\/p>\n
Apparently, Jenny is afraid of the number … that<\/em> number. The one between 12 and 14. So she decided to call this year ‘The Library’ instead.<\/p>\n Everything that happens in the library is just preparation for the next year. \u00a0That means if you fuck something up this year\u00a0it\u2019s fine.<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0This whole year is just practice. \u00a0The library is made for that. \u00a0Maybe you spend the year writing a book no one will ever read. \u00a0Maybe you spend the year recuperating from last year. \u00a0Maybe you burn the Thanksgiving turkey and forget an important birthday. \u00a0It\u2019s okay. \u00a0It happened in The Library. \u00a0It was just practice for next year. \u00a0Maybe it\u2019s insanity, or maybe it\u2019s just me, but somehow I think we all need a year in The Library. \u00a0A year where it\u2019s safe to make mistakes. \u00a0A year where it\u2019s okay to have to escape and stare out the window without someone asking you when you\u2019re going to get back to work and fix your life. \u00a0A year where we all whisper quietly about our plans and our wishes and dreams and darkest fears. \u00a0A year in The Library. \u00a0A year of getting lost in dusty, forgotten corners, and a year of finding the want. \u00a0(The want to leave. \u00a0The want to play. \u00a0The want to shrug off the dreams and walk out in the sunlight. \u00a0The want to pounce on 2014 with glee and rapture.)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
