Editorial - Issue 12:02

Dear Readers,

Welcome to the final issue of Perilous Adventures for 2012. In this mini-issue, we're proud to be featuring the three winners of the short story competition.

The competition has run for several years now, and every year we're overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the entrants, the quality and diversity of the stories we receive, and the wealth of talent demonstrated in the writing.

This year was no exception, and the stories, and writers, we are introducing to you in this issue are extraordinary. We hope you enjoy the humour and pathos of Jeremy, the poetic voice of the evocatively historical Rellik, and the challenging picture of a contemporary Timorese man in The Wild.

Sadly, this will be the last issue of Perilous Adventures magazine, at least in its current format. It's been a wonderful journey. We do hope that you've enjoyed reading the stories and articles as much as we've enjoyed bringing them to you.

But ... it's time for a new adventure! In February 2013, Perilous Adventures will be relaunched in a new format. In the immortal (not-quite) words of Angela Carter, there will be old wine in new bottles, and new wine in old bottles and ... well, you'll just have to wait and see!

Once again, thank you for all your support over the years.

Happy writing, and reading,

nike
