Welcome to this exciting edition of Perilous Adventures. In this issue, we bring you a thrill-ride of award-winning writing.

Included in this issue are the four prize-winning stories from the Perilous Adventures Short Story Competition. This is the second year we have run this competition, and we're thrilled at the quality of the work we received.

We're also delighted to be publishing extracts from the four shortlisted authors in this year's Queensland Premier's Literary Awards - Emerging Author Category. The four shortlisted authors have written very different manuscripts - short story collections, memoirs and works of fiction - and each demonstrates a unique style.

Finally, but by no means least, we're really excited to be presenting an interview with the scandalously fabulous Krissy Kneen. Krissy's memoir was released this year, after many years of dedication to her craft. You can read an extract from her book, Affection, and find out about her journey to publication, and her approach to writing in her interview.
